Ph.D., BC-HIS

Michael Bruk, PhD, BC-HIS earned his degrees in the former Soviet Union where he specialized in Military Audiology, and Research and Development in Hearing Aids and Assistive Listening Devices. He has lectured on Hearing Aids and Aural Rehabilitation at the Pedagogical Institute and the Medical Institute of Leningrad, USSR.

In 1991, Dr. Bruk immigrated to the United States. Prior to his current position as a Hearing Aid Specialist at the Costco Hearing Center, he had been employed by the Pascack Valley Hospital, Westwood, NJ as a biomedical engineer.

Dr. Bruk serves on the NJAHHP Board and Chair of its PAC, HADEC.

Holly Herman received her certification as a NJ Licensed Hearing Dispenser in 1994, her designation as Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist (BC-HIS, ACA) in 1997, and her Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston. She is a member of the NJ Association of Hearing Health Professionals (1995-present) and the International Hearing Society (1997-present). She has been privileged to work at the Summit Hearing Aid Center since 1993.

Holly cherishes the professional relationships she has with her patients and the positive impact she has on their quality of life. Outside of the office she is active in her community volunteering for the Valhalla Civic Association, Field Corps Board and MJCBY.

Dr. Leslie Herman received the Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree in 2005 from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. She has a Master's Degree in Audiology from Washington University in St. Louis, where she also received an academic fellowship from the Central Institute for the Deaf, and a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology from Syracuse University. In 1983, she founded the Summit Hearing Aid Center in Summit and three years later opened a second office in Irvington.

Dr. Herman holds New Jersey licenses in both Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing. She is a trustee of the NJ Association of Hearing Health Professionals and a member of the American Academy of Audiology, Academy of Dispensing Audiologists, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, International Hearing Society and the NJ Association of Audiologists.

Michael Dougherty is a Business Advisor with 19 years of experience in hearing healthcare. He began his career as a clinical audiologist performing diagnostic testing and dispensing hearing aids in a private practice in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Since 1997, he served as Regional Sales Manager for Widex, where he assisted practices in the growth and management of their hearing clinics. He has worked with a variety of practice stings with a focus of positioning practices as the area leader for hearing related services and care. Michael has always been interested in aural rehabilitation, counselling and quantification of hearing aid treatment outcomes. Michael earned a doctoral degree in audiology from Salus University in 2005. Michael works individually with each practice to determine their unique needs using needs analysis and by providing product solutions for accounts and patients. Michael can also provide recommendations on selling techniques, market strategies, and business best practices.
